PRP

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP or vampire face lift) is concentrated blood plasma which contains ideally two and a half times the number of platelets found in normal circulating blood. These platelets contain growth factors and other bioactive protein, which may help in wound healing, bio-regeneration and hair growth.

This cocktail of platelets rich in growth factors (some anti-inflammatory, some inflammatory) is applied like a mesotherapy on the face and can help improve skin quality, as well as dark circles under the eyes, to restore radiance to the skin and reduce the signs of aging.

Orthopedists and sports physicians also use it to accelerate the healing of certain injuries or inflammations.

The inconvenience is that you need to have your blood drawn and there may be some temporary swelling in the treated area. Platelet rich plasma seems to be extremely safe since we are using your own serum.

​PRP may be used to halt or reverse hair miniaturization, the process that causes common baldness. It may help stimulate the growth of hair follicles. It is useful in the treatment of crown thinning where a hair transplant may not be appropriate. Patients usually see results in 6 months. However, the response time may be variable. There is an individualized response to this treatment with a spectrum of effectiveness. It does not work in all cases. Patients are monitored to assess the benefits of therapy.

After the first treatment, we will administer the next two treatments at 6-week intervals. You will be asked to return 3 months later. At 6 months from your first treatment your response will be assessed. If you show improvement, follow-up treatments will be given twice yearly depending upon your progress.
